History

For more than ten years railway projects in the Aarsleff Group were handled by ‘Banekonsortiet’ a collaboration between Per Aarsleff A/S, Petri & Haugsted as and Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S. Petri & Haugsted began its first railway project as early as 1911 and the company’s railway skills were still strong, when the company became a part of the Aarsleff Group in the 1990’s.

With many large railway projects on the horizon there was an obvious advantage of creating a single organisation to maintain a stable base of competences, invest in machinery and build lasting relations with clients. Consequently, in 2009, Banekonsortiet became Aarsleff Rail A/S, today owned by Per Aarsleff Holding A/S.

Aarsleff Rail quickly won contracts on track and signalling works, bridge repairs and several service contracts as well. The great experience from Banekonsortiet and the long history of railway projects contributed to confidence for bot employees and partners as well as clients.

With our motivation to strengthen our professional collaboration with customers before, during and after each project, with our competent employees and investments in advanced equipment Aarsleff Rail is executing a continuously growing number of infrastructure projects.

Acquisitions of companies with strong assets and special competences helps contribute to our mission of supplying our customers with high quality and competent project management. In 2014 we acquired all shares in the Swedish company Anker AB which in 2022 was renamed Aarsleff Rail AB. In 2022, Norwegian Trym Anlegg AS also became part of the Aarsleff Rail Group.
